A New York City Salsa Dancing Event: SALSA WEDNESDAYS at LQ

This is a newly renovated night club with a nice atmosphere, a medium size wooden dance floor and a full bar.  As with many commercial clubs, the music is very loud and sometimes there are all kinds of flashing rotating lights.  There is plenty of seating around the dance floor plus a somewhat secluded lounge section off to the side.

They play A mix of classic, commercial salsa and "salsa romantica" plus a little cha cha, bachata & merengue.   Surprisingly for a brand new club, the sound system is somewhat distorted with poor equalization, not very clear, and sometimes the volume can be excessively loud. They are plyed by DJ Wreck, DJ Johnny Famolari and other guest DJs.  DJs do some "mixing" & "looping" manipulations of the music like what you hear on FM radio station La Mega.

You ca wear from dressy casual up to quite dressy.  Office attire.  Dress for a night club.  Dress "in good taste", no sneakers or boots.  Men must wear dress shoes.
